For the past 14 years, our family has engaged in the traditional act of hunting for elk. We are not trophy hunters. We only hunt to put meat in the freezer. Our grown kids return to the ranch to put healthy meat in their freezers, too. Our goals for the hunt are simple: find the elk, fill our tags and fill our freezers. It’s simple and we enjoy the time together. We all refer to the good times we have hunting as “one for the books.”
