Small health tax will have beneficial impact on well-being
Dear Editor:
I’m not a fan of high taxes, but I am strongly in favor of the proposed 2-mill tax levy to support public health in Ouray County, for several reasons.
Ouray County citizens deserve stable, locally-controlled funding for public health resources. At present 46% of our Public Health funding comes from state and federal revenues, neither of which are guaranteed.
