Problems facing Ouray require solutions beyond rental tax

As ballots for the Nov. 2 election have been mailed out, I would like to point out several concerns with Ballot Issue 2A. This proposal would implement a new 15% excise tax on the amount charged for short-term rentals, which only account for 12% of all lodging available to visitors coming to Ouray.
