Montrose Regional Health is reporting a surge of COVID-19 cases and record patient numbers in the Emergency Department, forcing more patient transfers and longer wait times.

Instead of slowing down and heading into shoulder season, October is set to surpass September and August as the hospital’s busiest ever months in the Emergency Department, CEO Jeff Mengenhausen said. Montrose Memorial Hospital announced its new name, Montrose Regional Health, last week.
