Excise tax would have long-term effects
Dear Editor:
With Ballot Issue 2A on the upcoming election, this will prove disastrous to us that own and operate Airbnbs here in the city of Ouray. The 15% tax on our businesses alone is unfair and will have eventual consequences that will affect the city long term. Yes, we need a new treatment plant, and affordable housing needs to be dealt with, but not at the expense of us 100 or so business owners that also support the town in many different ways.
