Tax hike for health goes to voters
Ouray County voters will be asked to approve a property tax increase to raise funding for the health department in November.
The question will ask voters to approve a 2 mill tax, estimated to cost $14.30 per year for every $100,000 of residential property value, to fund the department’s operation, maintenance and capital expenses.
Commissioners approved the ballot question on Tuesday, in a unanimous vote which Chairman Ben Tisdel reluctantly joined.
