Vacation rental tax goes to voters
Ouray voters will be asked in November to approve a 15% tax on short-term rentals, a measure intended to generate revenue to help offset impacts created by the burgeoning industry.
A short-handed Ouray City Council voted 3-0 to send the question to voters, drawing applause from a few people who attended Monday afternoon’s special meeting. Mayor Pro Tem John Wood and Councilor Glenn Boyd were absent and excused from the meeting.
