August 26, 1971 – The city’s sanitation department has received a big boost from the City of Montrose recently, with delivery of Ouray’s old International truck, overhauled and beautified and installed with a garbage packer. The packer was second-hand Montrose city equipment. It was installed, with two new hydraulic hoists, the truck bed extended two feet to fit the packer, and the truck sanded and painted by the City of Montrose at no cost to the City of Ouray.
