A fifth Ouray County resident has died after testing positive for COVID-19, Emergency Manager Glenn Boyd said Wednesday. 

The man, who was in his 80s and tested positive in mid-July, died on Aug. 5. 

Boyd said it’s not known yet if the man had been vaccinated. The county is also still working to determine whether he died due to COVID or due to another condition. The state tracks both categories, separating deaths caused by the virus from deaths among people who have tested positive.
