Ouray to seek tax on rentals
The Ouray City Council will ask voters this November to approve a 15% excise tax on short-term rentals, and have instituted a cap on the number of rental permits in the city, with exceptions only for those also providing long-term rental units.
Four councilors voted unanimously Monday to direct staff to create a ballot question for the November election. Councilor Glenn Boyd was absent and excused from the meeting.
