August 5, 1971 – The Gunnison Forest Advisory Council toured the roads adjacent to and road corridors through the Uncompahgre Primitive Area July 21 and 22. Many obvious conflicts were observed and discussed at length by the group. Problems associated with the massive and complex (16,000 acres) situation of interspersed private land became very evident.
