Almost $14 million in Paycheck Protection Program loans were approved for Ouray County businesses since last April, with more than a third going to restaurants, hotels and others hit hard by pandemic closures and capacity limits.

The U.S. Small Business Administration, which ran the program, disbursed billions of dollars in forgivable loans since it launched last April. The program ended May 31, though borrowers can still apply for forgiveness.
