The monsoonal moisture has enabled several local and federal agencies to lift Stage 1 fire restrictions.

Ouray County, the town of Ridgway, the Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre and Gunnison National Forests, the San Juan National Forest, Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park and Curecanti National Recreation Area all eliminated those restrictions in the last week.

That means campfires are again allowed outside established campgrounds and recreation sites in those areas.
