Autopsy: Man fell in canyon during pursuit
A Montrose man who died after falling into Dexter Creek Canyon while fleeing a Ouray police officer in May had a blood-alcohol level nearly three times the legal limit, according to an autopsy.
Dr. Dean Havlik, a Grand Junction forensic pathologist who performed the examination, ruled in the report that 48-year-old Luther Medina died of multiple blunt-force injuries, with water aspiration and alcohol intoxication being significant contributors to his death.
