A woman in her 80s who tested positive for COVID-19 a day before she died is the county’s fourth fatality connected with the virus.

She had been fully vaccinated with the Moderna vaccine in February, according to Tanner Kingery, Ouray County Public Health director. She died on July 8, but it’s unclear whether she was hospitalized at the time or what her symptoms were.
