Ouray County’s former sheriff pleaded guilty in two drunk-driving cases this week, in agreements allowing him to avoid jail time if he completes alcohol evaluations and public service.

Prosecutors in the Sixth and Seventh judicial districts made the agreements with Lance Fitz-Gerald, who was removed from office in the county’s first recall election last July after incidents with alcohol and domestic issues led constituents to remove him from office.
