Plaindealer publishers honored with award from state journalism organization

Ouray County Plaindealer co-owners, publishers and editors Erin McIntyre and Mike Wiggins have jointly been awarded the 2021 Keeper of the Flame award by the Colorado chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists.

This lifetime achievement award recognizes “extraordinary dedication to ethical, responsible journalism and professional integrity.” The award includes $500, which the Plaindealer will use for open records requests to pursue public information.
