Ridgway Elementary School has selected a new principal — Heidi Hanssen.

Hanssen was selected from a panel of four finalists this week, after interviews with students and staff, and a resume review from a 15-member committee, according to an email from Ridgway Superintendent Susan Lacy to parents.

Hanssen has served as an elementary principal for 17 years and her tenure includes leading Edwards Elementary School in Eagle and leading international schools in Rome and Barcelona.
