Carolyn Snowbarger’s column about railroading in Ridgway, published in the Feb. u-17 Plaindealer, is interesting about local history, although I must disagree with one statement. The Rio Grande Southern Railroad did not have a branch line from Ridgway to Ouray. This line was owned and operated by the Denver and Rio Grande Railroad. (Later to be southwest corner of named Denver and Rio Grande Western Railroad.)
