Ouray County commissioners heard two proposals for addressing the longstanding shortage of affordable housing on Tuesday, with two entities making pitches for donated land to develop.

The Telluride Foundation, which pitched its Rural Homes Initiative to the Ridgway School Board last week, explained its project to Commissioners Ben Tisdel, Lynn Padgett and Jake Niece, but largely skirted the issue of exactly where they’re hoping to build.
