Last year among driest on record for Ridgway, Ouray
Ridgway and Ouray just completed one of their driest years on record, and the forecast for the first quarter of 2021 isn’t predicting much relief.
Ridgway received just 11.53 inches of precipitation in 2020, roughly 51/2 inches below normal, making it the third-driest year since 1982, when official record-keeping began in the town, according to Megan Stackhouse, meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Grand Junction.
