Editor’s note: This story was updated Friday, Dec. 18 to correct a reporting error. The original story erroneously reported the amount of money left to spend in CARES Act funds. The county has already spent about $200,000 in funds and has roughly $16,000 left to spend of CARES Act funding.

Ouray County will have to find a different way to pay for body cameras after its attempt to justify roughly $50,000 in purchases was denied for federal virus aid reimbursement.
