Ouray residents likely will see another rate increase on their utility bills next year, as the city undertakes a pair of major infrastructure projects.

The Ouray City Council on Monday approved on first reading an ordinance that would bump up the rate residents pay for sewer, water, trash and recycling services by $8.83 per month per equivalent residential unit.

Councilors will hold a public hearing on the increase on Nov. 16, when they’re expected to formally adopt it.
