Sales tax revenue continues summer climb
The cancellation of the Fourth of July celebration — the busiest time each year in Ouray — did not prove to be a drag on the city’s budget.
The city collected $357,284 in sales tax revenue this month, a nearly 13 percent jump over the $316,742 the city collected the same time last year. The collections reflect spending in July.
Year to date, the city has pulled in more than $1.14 million in sales taxes, a 6.4 percent increase over last year.
