Council sends flume tax question to voters
The Ouray City Council unanimously agreed Wednesday to ask voters to continue a property tax that pays for projects designed to protect homes and businesses from flood damage.
In a special meeting, councilors approved a resolution seelcing to extend the city’s so-called flume tax for another 20 years.
“I think people will go for (the tax) better if there is a sunset,” Councilor Peggy Lindsey said.
