Ouray police responded to two altercations at the Timberline Deli in Ouray last week when interactions between staff and customers allegedly turned physical and customers were injured.

Last Tuesday just before 10 a.m., a customer became upset when the restaurant closed while he was waiting in line, according to a police report. The customer, a man named Matthew Hurst, started yelling, “then walked over and flipped an unoccupied table and umbrella over on the sidewalk,” witnesses said.
