After an expected pandemic-induced slow start to the spring and summer tourist season, spending ramped up in Ouray in June, bucking the downward trend that has hampered economies in many other cities.

The city collected $214,581 in sales tax revenue this month, a 2 percent increase over the $210,452 the city collected the same time last year. The collections reflect spending in June.
