July 23,1970 – The fifth annual spraying for mosquito control in the Ridgway area was completed July zo with Jack Tanner of Tanner Flying Service out of Cortez at the controls of the plane. The weather cooperated with near 5o degrees and still air at about 5:45 a.m. each morning when the first loads of Baytex and diesel were flown first over the area south of town, then north of town on the first two days.
