Anyone enjoying a picnic in one of two parks in Ouray can now legally bring alcohol with them.

The Ouray City Council voted 4-1 in a special meeting June 25 to pass an emergency ordinance suspending a prohibition on the public consumption of alcohol at Fellin and Rotary parks. The ordinance took effect immediately and will remain in place until Sept. 12.
