A trio of high-country accidents Sunday and Monday sent a motorcycle rider down a steep slope off U.S. Highway 550 and left a young boy with a serious head injury.

The first and least serious incident occurred around 11 a.m. Sunday when a Jeep slid off Engineer Pass about a halfmile up from U.S. 550.
