City seeks tourism marketing input
Ouray city councilors have repeatedly said they want to re-examine how money is spent to market the city to tourists. Now they’re creating a committee to help them do just that.
The city is accepting applications from residents to serve on the nine-member Tourism Advisory Committee, a volunteer group that will help guide the city on how to most effectively spend the more than $400,000 that flows into the city’s tourism fund each year from Ouray’s 3 percent lodging tax.
