Phase one of the project to bring fiber optic cable from Montrose over Log Hill and into Ouray for a total of about 48 miles of new broadband is nearing completion – but a shipping delay has held up the project.

Construction would be done by the June 30 target date if fiber strains from Germany had not been held up in port since May 31.
