A federal judge has dismissed the Gunnison County Sheriff’s Office as a defendant in a lawsuit brought by an elderly woman alleging use of excessive force. However, according to the attorney for Clare Hein, the case will continue against Corporal Wesley Hersberger charged in the case. The lawsuit, filed a year ago on May 28, 2019, in federal court, stems from an incident in September 2017 in which Hein, a former Gunnison resident, was charged with a single count of obstructing a peace ...
