Freedoms end when others are harmed
Dear Editor:
I’m a free American. That’s important to me, but what does it mean? Free elections, free speech, freedom to drink alcohol, freedom to drive drunk, freedom to smoke pot in the park, freedom to shoot my neighbor’s dog? Actually, there are thousands of ways that I’m not free, and that’s OK, as long as the line between free and not-free is drawn in the place.
So, where do we draw the line? On some issues, Americans are not in agreement. For example: Freedom to have an abortion? ...
