The Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad now hopes to begin operations on May 26, according to Jim Harper, president of the American Heritage Railway Hotels. “Originally we placed our start date as May 22,” Harper said on Wednesday morning, April 29, during a Silverton Area Chamber of Commerce conference call. “Now we will be moving our date to May 26th.” He noted that La Plata County and San Juan County also plan to move to a “Safer-at-Home public health policy at t...
