Dear Editor:

I was shocked, disappointed, and saddened to read that the Ouray School Board fired Superintendent Scott Pankow. Having served on the Board for eight years during Scott’s tenure I hold him in the highest esteem for his dedication to our children’s education, administrative skills, and strong desire to improve our District.

From the story in the Plaindealer, the Board cited a need for a “culture change” and “an improved relationship between administration and staff.”
