Who is this calf’s mother, anyway?
The month of March on the ranch is jumping with activity. All the tractors are in use feeding hay to the cows and horses. The heavy equipment is in use clearing snow piles and diverting muddy runoff from the driveways and roads. There are even a few horses working every now and then to move cows closer to the ranch barns for calving. Calving is the real job right now.
