The voices asking Ouray County Sheriff Lance FitzGerald to resign now include his own staff.

A Jan. 21 letter from a staff member to FitzGerald expressed embarrassment, disgust and a request for him to step down. The letter was delivered during a staff meeting in which employees of the sheriff’s department confronted FitzGerald about their concerns about his ability to lead the agency.
