January 29, 1970 – Willie Cox, age 10, was killed in an accident on the municipal ski slope in Ouray Friday forenoon. The tragedy occurred at about 11:10 a.m. School had let out for a teachers’ meeting, and a number of children were using the slope at the time. The boy was going up the rope tow.
