Dear Editor:

During the recent conversation concerning the future of the county sheriff there has been one important subject left out: why is the sheriff position determined by an election rather than appointed by the county commissioners? I am sure the commissioners would have thought twice before appointing someone with the background of the present sheriff. And would now be scheduling interviews with candidates to replace the sheriff that they had recently fired. Along with the recall petition...
