Hoping for a wet, cool end to tumultuous weather year
In a tumultuous year of very warm global weather, Ouray’s had a share of wildness, too. 2019, a yin/yang affair, began with a wet El Niño winter and spring.
January, February, March, May and October were colder and snowier than normal. Four months (April, July, August and September) were warmer and, with the exception of July, drier.
May’s daytime temps averaged an amazing, rather depressing 7.9 degrees below normal (55.6 vs. 63.5). Nights were 3.2 degrees colder.
