Board OKs Colona land-use changes

Colona landowner Craig Jackman has overcome his first hurdle in obtaining land-use code changes for development in the community.

The Ouray County Planning Commission voted unanimously on Nov. 19 to recommend approval of Jackman’s request, after hearing a pitch from Jackman’s representatives, attorney Bob Thomas and Chris Hawkins, president of Alpine Planning LLC.

The citizen-initiated code change concerning the Colona Zone, where Jackman owns more than 250 acres of land.
