Despite a request from the Ouray County Fair Board to move the event earlier in the year, commissioners have decided to leave the fair where it always has been — over Labor Day weekend.

After hearing the request and a rebuttal from a representative of the Ouray County Rodeo Association — which holds its event the same weekend — commissioners declined the request on Tuesday.
