The story in The Washington Post grabbed my attention. It was an article about a ranch.
I was a graduate student in the swamp called D.C. during much of Richard
Nixon’s presidency. Facing impeachment (think Watergate, Katherine Graham,
Woodward and Bernstein, “Deep Throat”), Nixon resigned in August 1974.
Even during Watergate, news coverage in The Post was not confined to national politics, but any story involving horses was more likely about a steeplechase than a rodeo or ranch.
