Rate increases, job shifts dominate budget talks

It won’t come with the pain that accompanied this year’s major rate increase, but Ouray residents likely will pay more on their city utility bills next year.
The Ouray City Council on Monday approved on first reading an ordinance that would bump up the rate residents pay for sewer, water, trash and recycling services by $4.05 per month per equivalent residential unit.
