I commend the Plaindealer for the recent excellent article on “Dark Skies.” If you read the article, you know that the Ridgway Town Council unanimously passed a dark sky ordinance which is a huge step toward Ridgway becoming certified by the International Dark Sky organization.

We are very fortunate in Ouray County for being able to enjoy this valuable resource. On clear nights over

3,000 stars can be seen in most areas of the county!
