Former undersheriff scheduled for trial

OURAY COUNTY

Former Ouray County Undersheriff Richard Herman has pleaded not guilty to charges alleging he solicited sex from a teenage boy and is scheduled for a three-day jury trial in April.

Herman, represented by defense attorney Brent Martin of Montrose, is facing charges of criminal attempt to commit inducement of child prostitution and child abuse. He was indicted by a grand jury in June.

The alleged crime happened prior to Herman being promoted to undersheriff, in spring 2018. According to ...
