October 2, 1969 – Wilbert W. Jennings, 37, was killed at about 1:30 p.m., Monday, when the locomotive he was operating at the Black Bear area of the Idarado Mine ran through closed, heavy wooden ventilating doors. Jennings had been going for materials, and was alone at the time of the accident. Lester Cox, a mechanic at the mine, discovered the man’s body shortly after the accident.
