Ouray County commissioners are discussing the adoption of 2018 federal building codes to avoid the risk it wouldn’t receive help from the Federal Emergency Management Agency in the event of a crisis.

To address this, land use department staff developed six new proposed regulations that would revise the county’s building code to meet federal standards, using input from a committee of builders and architects.
