Rigging for Rescue instructor Kevin Koprek has pulled out of the Ouray City Council race, citing “recent events” with his family.

The former manager of the Ouray Ice Park had been one of six candidates competing for two spots on the council and had talked at length last week about his vision for the city and qualifications for council. But he notified the city and the Plaindealer early this week that he was terminating his candidacy.
